Message from the President
Dear Members,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the New York Association of Treatment Court Professionals, I want to thank you for the work you have done during this most challenging year. When our court system responded to the threat of COVID-19 and pivoted to virtual courts, our members rose to the challenge and implemented innovative methods of connecting with our participants. Using technology, we maintained contact with those we serve in treatment courts and continued to provide them the support and guidance they needed to keep them stable during very uncertain times.
In the year ahead, we will have continuing challenges as we move to reopen courthouses safely and resume regular court appearances. As we move forward into this new era, it is more important than ever that our organization continues to educate, advocate and innovate. We have instituted monthly training session and are currently planning for our annual conference to be held in March 2022. Our March 2021 first ever virtual conference was a tremendous success and we look forward to repeating that success next year!
The Board would like to thank the Office of Court administration, especially Chief Judge DiFiore and Chief Administrative Judge Marks, for their continued support of our Association. Without their help, we could not do the work we do. Moving forward, we will continue to assist our membership to navigate our “new normal”.
We remain committed to supporting New York's treatment court professionals and improving outcomes for those individuals who look to us to help reclaim their lives.
Thank you for the work you do every day for the people we serve.
Very truly yours,
Hon. Debra J. Young
